The photo at the top of the page is my Mom and two of her sisters. There are only two of them living now and they are very important to one another. They are both very frail and their families love them so much. We are so proud of them all - all four sisters - and are glad to have called them "Mom" or "Aunt" for they were faithfully loving to all the family.

Hi. I hope that you and your family are having a good Summer. I  have gotten to see a lot of my relatives recently. We have had a couple of people die in our family and we got together to comfort one another about their passing. Also our immediate family worked together to get our Mom moved into a retirement living center. There have been a lot of changes in our family this Summer and it has been good to get together.

Hi, I'm glad you visited  my website today. In every road of a lifetime there are twists and turns which make one day different from another. Today my day is going down a road to think about my Mom. I am thinking a lot about her. I want to appreciate and honor her. I and my husband will travel far this Mother's Day to be with her. She is a wonderful lady. Right now I know that she doesn't feel very good. She can't really cheer herself up because her memory is getting weak. Though she has a lot of great memories, she can't remember them by herself. While she recovers from a medical procedure, she has to be in a nursing home for medical care and therapy. Her eyesight is very weak and she can't do any of her favorite things to pass the time. Visits, flowers and phone calls are what make her day pleasant. 

My Mom's life has been full of interesting experiences and very meaningful. She has silently helped many people along the way, making their lives better and giving them hope. She can't even remember the good things she has done for people. But when she is reminded of just one little thing it cheers her up and helps her feel like she has done something worthwhile.

I GOT TO GO INNER TUBING WITH OUR FAMILY AFTER CHRISTMAS. IT WAS VERY COLD OUT AND THE SNOW WAS SLIPPERY UNDERFOOT. WE SCREAMED, WE LAUGHED, WE "OOFED" AND "UGGED" AS WE TUBED DOWN THE SLOPE. I HAD A LOT OF FUN!

Some personal tests of character came late in the year this year. Just when I thought I had I fairly high level of belief in the awesome power of God, I was asked to do something seemingly impossible. Instead of fully believing with the faith level of a child, I scoffed at whether or not it was fair for this request to be voiced by someone I love very much. Well, tests show where you stand don't they? I have some needed growing in faith in God to do, starting last week. So, off I go . . .!

I love Christmas because it is a time to draw aside and celebrate the most important Person's birthday of all - Jesus Christ's. He is alive and I am thankful that He came to earth. He lived, died and rose again after 3 days! Many people worship gods that cannot hear and cannot know you personally. I worship Jesus and He is living and keeps His promises. What a wonderful God to love us enough to send His Son to rescue us from sin and a hopeless existence.

WE HAVE A "GRANDDOGGY" THAT IS A SHITZU. HE IS A LITTLE DOG WITH A BIG NAME, "MOOSE". HE DOESN'T BARK AT PASSERSBY OR STRANGERS. HE DOES BARK EVERY FEW SECONDS, HOWEVER, IF HIS MASTER IS EATING AND WILL NOT SHARE WITH HIM. SO BASICALLY THEY HAVE A PEACEFUL HOME -- EXCEPT AT MEALTIMES. GO FIGURE!!

WE HAVE A "GRANDKITTY" WHO IS PART SIAMESE AND PART TABBY CAT. SHE SINGS LIKE A SIAMESE AND LOUNGES AND HUNTS LIKE A TABBY. FOR MONTHS WE WORKED ON THE SONG "SILENT NIGHT, HOLY NIGHT" TOGETHER, SHE AND I, AS HER WAY TO TELL ME CREATIVELY THAT SHE WANTED TO BE LET OUTSIDE. SHE LIKES TO GO OUTSIDE AS OFTEN AS SHE LIKES WITH AS LITTLE EFFORT EXPENDED ON HER PART AS POSSIBLE, BUT ONE DAY WHEN I WAS THE ONLY ONE HOME TO LET HER OUT SHE STARTED SINGING AND MADE IT THROUGH UNTIL ABOUT THE LAST LINE OF THE TUNE OF THE SONG.

My Mom and our daughter are two women who know what it means to work hard. They have been employed in the workplace, taken care of the sick and cooked and cleaned for the family. They are best friends. They know what it means to work on relationships and to love from the heart. Aren't they both just beautiful? They each have beauty secrets and both look young for their age. They are pictured in the upper right corner of my home page, because they are my friends, family and Avon customers - the best!!

May 31, 2006           My Hair Donation Story

My niece and a newspaper article about a teen where I live in had been what encouraged me to consider donating hair sometime to someone who needed it. Well, A couple of months ago I was able to donate 5 10" brunette ponytails of my own hair to a non-profit organization which helps provide wigs/hairpieces of human hair to individuals 18 years of age or younger who suffer from hair loss due to medical conditions.

It took at least 2 1/2 years to grow my hair to a length that would qualify (10"). In the meantime I had to keep it colored (mine is mostly graying, and this organization does not use gray hair) and strong so it would be good hair for the wigs/hairpieces.

Though I was only donating hair, I kind of freaked out the few hours right before it was cut. I would say this is good practice for anyone who thinks they might be willing to donate an organ to someone else. If you ever do donate hair, try to remain calm and "breathe normally" as they say on the airlines. I was O.K. after we got going on the cutting. When the first ponytail was placed on the counter, I felt a sense of joy, and was very glad I had made the choice to help someone else.

Before it was cut we washed, conditioned and then straightened it with heated straightener paddles. Then our daughter measured, banded and cut the hair.

I sure appreciate her taking the time to help me make this donation! Thank you to her and to our family for encouraging me along the way. And thank you to the stylists who helped me keep it colored or trimmed: Misty, Pamela, Betty, Jan, Susie, and Rhonda.

The person who receives my hair is someone special - I know, because if not, I would have quit growing it out a long time ago, don't you think?

Running, walking, playing at the 

park. . . seems like people are excited

to be outside and exercise a little

more now that the ice and snow are

disappearing. One friend wants to

push her baby in a stroller around

town, another wants to run a 5 K,

another is going to walk in an Avon

Breast Cancer Crusade 26 miles long.

I on the other hand am training to be

able to walk with a backpack for 5

miles slowly. In my efforts, I also want

to encourage the mommy by walking

with her a few times a week, ask my f

riend how her training for the 5 K is

going, and I encouraged to my friend

who must raise $1,800 to walk in

the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade

Walk. I am proud of each of them!

They are an encouragement to me in

meeting my own goal.

June 22, 2007  Now that we are in Summertime, I want to let you know some of my favorite Avon products. Write to me and tell me your favorites.

Slim & Sleek Leg Perfector is a bronzing and skin toning product that is easy to apply. Try wearing disposable plastic gloves to smooth it on. It gives legs and arms a sheen for a finish and helps hide imperfections and add healthy "outdoorsy-looking" color. Any streaks are easily smoothed out with a little body lotion or hand cream. Lots of fun, and dries quickly.

Another product I like are Curves Sunglasses. They keep wind and dust out of eyes and are the UV protection we need from the sun's rays.

Mini hand creams such as Moisture Therapy Intensive are great for on the go. This time I am going to be trying the Moisture Therapy Oatmeal.

With being outdoors more this time of year the soles of your feet can really get dehydrated and rough. Footworks Sloughing Cream is the product to take off calluses and other dried, rough and dead foot skin. Moisten the sole of your foot with water, smooth a little Footworks Sloughing Cream on the area and let it set per directions on the package. Rub off the dead skin and rinse the cream off when done. Why I love Avon is that it has flexible hours and this gives me time to think about God . . .

This time of year the many Christian holidays we have to celebrate can help us to focus on God. In March we will continuing to be in Lent and on March 17th we will call to mind a Christian missionary (St. Patrick). Then April begins with Palm Sunday and finally Easter comes one week later. Now is the time for soul-searching, Bible reading, worshiping God and praying to Him. It is so important for each one of us to take a moment now and then and become refreshed with thoughts about God. I encourage you to find out about Who God is, why He made you, what plans He has for you and how much He loves you. I want you to know that I have read in the Bible that He loves you very much. You are important to Him. He wants you to get to know Him better.

In November and December a friend and I at church have been holding an Avon fund-raising event to raise money for ladies to go to Christian conferences and retreats. It has been a lot of fun, and a lot of work. I look forward to the day we will announce how much was donated. Lots of people participated and were so glad to help with placing an order. Thank you everyone who helped with this so someone could go when their finances might not ordinarily allow for it.

Why I like selling Avon? This morning I made a telephone call I made to Avon's Customer Service. After efficiently and politely resolving a problem I found in my order and  bill, the phone Representative said, "Thank you for selling Avon."

I liked that!

6-11-2006 The other day a man said to me, "Maybe I should sell Avon." I said to him, "Maybe you should." These comments were part of a conversation between 2 people with something in common, having recently moved into the area. When I first arrived, I knew about 50 people, all ages. Almost 6 months later, I started selling Avon. Now I know about twice that many people, probably more. Even if you are a shy person, like me, selling Avon gets you out and talking to people. I like to talk and listen to people, any age, and Avon gives me some props.

Should that man sell Avon, well, why not?  What I like about selling Avon

I really like knowing that the products that I sell are 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

I like to having a chance to see new products at our local District Events.

I like being able to learn about the ingredients, uses, effects and advantages of Avon and Mark cosmetic products, so my customers will be well-informed as they consider what to select.

I like having excellent products to offer to male customers, too. Cool gadgets, videos, hand-held and board games, racing and other professional sports collector items, and even skin care products, cologne, after-shave, body wash, and shower soap-on-a-rope  --- all for men!

What I love about having my own business with Avon? Well, what's not to love? I like learning about each one: their favorite colors, their favorite music, their favorite sports and even what they collect. I have moved 11 times. I am willling to go wherever God leads me. But sometimes it has been hard to meet people and make friends after I have moved.
